Shankar Ramachandran is a television famous singer. He became a household name in Tamil Nadu, when he won the Grand Finale of the famous Sun TV program Saptha Swarangal in the year 1999.  A stage singer on the light music circuit for 20 years (which includes the 15 years of his troupe, Shankar’s achievement in the entertainment scenario cannot be overlooked or underestimated. For no singer — classical, semi-classical or light — always renders his own style. It is the presentation that matters. Shankar's audience almost always comprises people of all ages. From the old to the middle aged, from kids to youth, the cross section is always wide.

Shankar has performed in various stages across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra. He is not only a singer, but a percussionist too. He has received “fastest fingers” award & appreciations from IIT Madras during a college fest for his "Tabla" (Indian Percussion Instrument) Playing Those who have followed this man's agility on stage for long would know that his jubilant mood has been a sure draw.
